Exploring Autumn!

This week, our preschool students enjoyed a wonderful sensory autumn class, discovering the colors, textures, and smells of the season. The classroom was filled with excitement as the children explored a variety of natural treasures; leaves, pomegranates, chestnuts (with their prickly burrs), and pumpkins.

The activity began with a dynamic conversation about autumn, what changes we see in nature, and what makes this season so special. Then, the children were invited to touch, smell, and observe the different materials.

They loved feeling the crunchy, dry leaves, noticing their different shapes and warm shades of red, yellow, and brown. The pomegranates were a big success too, the children were fascinated by their shiny red seeds and the sweet scent they released when opened. The chestnuts brought plenty of curiosity as everyone compared the smooth, bright nuts with the spiky burrs that protect them. Finally, the pumpkins offered a chance to explore size and weight! The morning ended with smiles all around and a classroom full of beautiful autumn colors!
